1974 Fender Super Reverb 6l6 45 watts , Reverb, Tremolo, tilt back legs, Jupiter 10" speakers...MASTER REMOVED...
Congrats on a sweet amp. Beautiful clean tones are easy on these, but you can get some smooth saturated lead tones if you wind these up, too. But at 45 watts and 4x10 speakers, it'll be very loud... which you probably already know this!

Lots of interesting mods available for just about any version of the Super Reverb. How does the removal of the master volume affect this particular circuit?

Those Jupiter speakers look nice, but I've never heard of them...

When i start play gigs 1979 i got one of this from 1977, crazy loud amp, but sounds fantastic, does this have the push pull MV ?

I remeber a gig In a Ice rink, we played in the pause for about 1500 people, had the volume of 4 and all asked me to turn down...
You must have had the 70 watt "ultra linear" version. Those would seem to never break up, and a goofy CBS-Fender design decision, IMO. I scored on a '78 (ultra linear) for a very fair price. Had it only for a very short time, because it felt boring to me.

Great stuff up there. have fallen in love with a Super Reverb & a Mim ceramic pup strat & the TS808 side of a VS Jekyll & Hyde pedal. The way it hits the amp & running it at 5 on guitar volume n for chords..4 holer plexi experience has taught me how to use this..its hard on me cause..always been a heavy player..but this pure tone is addictive, going to roll with the new music coming from the heart...its just strait rock..also..i found where Mrs BFt fits in the mix...she dosn't have to fight my guitar now..

beautiful !! i put a mellow tube in 1 & 2 and am breaking at semi reasonable levels..my tech is going to go over it..MV is already removed..the Jupiter speakers are familiar sound to me..feel they act more mid than traditional ones..it reminds of just how the celestion V type made the 68 CDR come alive...it acted typical chime..but could coax a mid out of it & break just right. Also..big lesson..what sounds shrill at home is kick butt in a proper studio or band mix..we tend to play with too much bass at home..cause sitting in front of a beast being pounded with an ice pick isnt so fun..

I couldn't agree with you any more. If I tinker and mod certain amps at bedroom or semi-loud volumes, they will sound very uninspiring at real band levels of volume.

2 weeks with this beast has changed my playing so much. The Jupiter ceramic 10's are very present & also there is a mid knob on the tremolo chan..which allows me to pop like am used to with M circuits. there is such a punch with this amp. Did record with it last week. Curious to hear results. I know it much better now & the speakers really broke in. Its such a gritty amp. Knew the strats & nighthawk would be great in it. But my SG's are smokin ! the 61 Alnico & 490/490..man its just on with a lil boost. sorta messing me up with all them marshalls. there is just a raunch in these fenders i can identify with..the 73 pro reverb has the smaller output trans & the 12's stay tight.for the big cleans for recording. Both on at same time is insane.. Finding the sweet spot on both amps right at kick drum level which is right where it needs to be in a band anyway. Took a chance on Fender& sorta broke me outta the mold been in. refreshing
