Picked it up on my way home from work yesterday.
Tried it out for a few minutes at the seller's place and everything seemed to be functioning, so I paid the man and packed it up. :D

Fantastic condition, as far as I can tell.
Pics are after some substantial dust removal.
Some expected scuffs and scrapes - only one real tear on the bottom front.
Original stock G12C's.

I had no choice.
Showed up on my local CL at a price I couldn't pass up.
Dude was moving to Florida and needed to lighten the move.

There's one on Reverb at $1.4k, three on GC from $1.3k to $1.6k.
I paid $600...
The speakers are worth 1/2 that.

Got it Stonehenged on top of one of my 1922 cabs.
Tried some G12M-25 GB's, but settled on G12H-75 CB's in the cab.
The H mags blend well with the G12C's.

It's getting a head mod and going on the pair of 1922's...

Congrats on a fantastic amp… . The Marshall Vintage Modern series is one of the most underrated Marshall amps ever. When these first came out, I got the chance to fiddle with the 50-watt combo at the local guitar shop for about ten minutes. It was only at very low volumes, but I just knew that this was a very special amp that Marshall has whipped up. Why don’t I have one of these?

The amazing Paul Gilbert put this amp on my radar. Here’s his 50 minute endorsement video… At least check out the first 10 minutes:

Picked it up on my way home…
I do hope you will provide us with a thorough report of your wanking and mayhem with your new acquisition… :fingersx:

Got out my wood stretcher today for Head shell mod #1 (not for the VM).
This is an old ValveState head that I bought empty for less than the parts.

Need to make it a taller for the 4210.
I'm putting that on the AVT cabs - the Origin50H is up for sale.
The VS head is a width match, and I make the cosmetics match the cabs.

The Sourmash head shell is then going to be stretched lengthwise (mod #2) and get the VM on the 1922's.
Might break with tradition and mount it chassis on top / tubes down like the combo orientation.

Got the chassis bolt holes in head stretch #1.
Mounted the feet & handle for a test fit.

Close up.

Logo panel from the other head shell will need a few adjustments, but not a bad fit.
Unfortunately, the RI pinstripe grill cloth is unobtainium at the moment.
I think I may just tolex the logo panel.
Vintage Modern heads have a tolex logo panel, so I was going to do that on the other head anyway.

Now I can do head stretch #2...
This shell was originally supposed to be a 4010 conversion.
Has the drip edge cut for a tubes down, chassis on top configuration.
I actually had it upside down with the 4210 in it.
Just gotta strip it, cut down the middle, and add some wood for the wider VM chassis.

Tolex and piping got ordered from T&M last night - got tracking#, but no delivery date yet.
I'll re-wrap both heads at the same time.

To get over the free shipping threshold, I added a cap set for the 4210 to the order.
It would have cost the same either way, so WTF not?
