Ok so this is a bit late , BUT if you followed my other thread then you understand why (Time for a change - VOX out). I received the Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket w/reverb on Tuesday. Had to resolve an issue but that is taken care of now. This little bugger SCREAMS.

It is 20 watts through a 10" Eminence Black Widow speaker, and all I can say is DAMN. I was never a big fan of the EL84 tubes but this amp has converted me.

The Rhythm channel is very sweet and the Lead channel growls with authority. The Contour channel is my least favorite. I really scopes out the mids. The reverb is a bit weak, but what do you expect after playing a Fender BF Deluxe for 20 years.

There is a headphone jack also which the wife REALLY enjoys.:pound-hand:

I also like the parallel effects loop with a mix control. Time to build another pedal board.

Once I learn how to play worth a crap I will post some sound clips.

That little Boogie sounds like a pretty cool amp. I've always been curious about Mesa's EL84 offerings. I don't get to see them too often around here.

I have had several other amps with the EL84's, Carvin, Fender, Gibson and I just did not care for the voicing that they had. Randall Smith though can work wonders with them.
 
Big sound from a little amp! Congrats! FYI - I cannot find any distractions or problems in your other threads - I hope all is well

 
Time for a change - VOX out

HHmmm I must have screwed up . . . SO the problem was when I would turn on the reverb it would start to squeal. ( long story short) It turns out to be that the spring assembly, which is mounted INSIDE the chassis with small hanger springs came loose during shipping. Once I replace the old springs with new and re-hung the verb spring assembly all is good.
 
Congrats on your successful encounter with a Mesa amp. Mesa makes many different models, yet they are all very versatile. Enjoy... :cheers:
 
I had an express 5/25, one of the early ones with the 10" speaker.
It was a great sounding amplifier but all that versatility was wasted
on me because I was using it as a clean platform for pedals.
I passed it on to a guitar - cable - amplifier friend of mine.
He makes it sing. (and howl and roar and growl and scream).
 
Well so far I have run the Tele, Blues Hawk and the P90 Melody Maker through this lil beast and I am amazed.
I can honestly say I have found the amp I have always wanted.
Tonight the SG will take a ride through the Mesa.
