My Telecaster Project Build

The one thing that bothers me about telecaster is the long control cavity that un-necessarily runs into the pickgaurd.
Except for the cabrinita.

I did buy a Tele Neck, I guess I should have just saved my money but I want to put this guitar together.
I posted it on another thread, I should refrained on that. It belongs here.

My simple theory about a China made neck is it can't be worse than a Squire neck. So far my Affinity neck has been decent.

I might eventually get a good neck but I refuse to pay $400+ for it. I don't make money playing so until I do they can keep their pricey product as far as I am concerned.

A funny thing happened while buying the neck in question.
It was canceled !!!!!!!
Turns out, not in stock ? Why was it for sale ?
Next.

How'd I miss this build? Lookin good!!
It's easy to miss stuff. That and I started it quite some time ago and it had a different tittle that was hard to remember. Lol
Fitz sent some parts. It took a while after I sanded to get sealer on due the fine Willamette valley weather (over head river)

Then about a month ago I put the first few coats of nitro on. Time to sand again and the weather is perfect.

It is looking good, and it has some character to it, mahogony can be a bit plain but that is a cool piece. Should be a rocker!! oh and at least the humidity should be drying up :ROFLMAO:.

I am looking forward to getting it going.
I have the neck at the top of the above first post but it is unfinished and blank headstock.
This new one is finished and just bolt on.

The neck looks exactly like the pic from the seller, roasted, stainless frets. I will post a pick when it comes together.

After the 600 grit I felt the top was to thin so I sprayed one more coat. It’s been a week watching paint dry. I must wait a month.

I might as well private message @DirtySteve
It starts out sounding like a AA meeting.
" I purchased a Telecaster body on Reverb"

So I put a offer in at 10% off, it ends up in my cart. I GUESS I should have made it 20%.
Warmoth mahogany telecaster body.
It looks a little rough to me. It has string ferrules.

Now after this is where it turns in to a money pit ?

I re-posted this because I couldn't change the title. It was difficult to find my own post. I know search.
Anyway, last time I did anything was I put black die after sanding sealer.
Today I sanded it back, I am using amber from StewMac. It's got a few coats. I will let it set for a week. Hopefully the weather will be good.

Good choice of wood. The mahogany has better midrange and low frequency. It's going to have much better sustain than ash or alder does.

One thing I have to recommend is:
shield the entire inside of the guitar and shield the pick guard before you wire it.
