My Pickup Irony

Alright, so to better understand the situation help me go over it for a bit here on what you currently have:

You have 2 humbuckers that have 4 wires ( well one is 3 with a bare ground but that's the same difference ). You have a single Volume and single Tone. You want to rig it with a standard 5 way switch that can go:
1: Bridge Humbucker
2: Bridge Single Coil
3: Parallel Bridge and Neck Humbucker
4: Neck Single coil
5: Neck Humbucker
Correct?

Basically, the setup you're using will be best described as a Tele layout with 5 way switching.

Only way I can possibly come up with a solution is 3 ways to get that exact set up you're after:
1) Use the standard 5 way you got but you are gonna need a push pull pot on the tone
2) Use a Super Switch/Oak Grigsby but standard pots
Or if you're frisky?
3) Use a Superswitch AND push pull pot on the tone and open up an entire array of options ( about 8 different tones), worth a look right? This would be something that I would personally love to try myself

Lol, I am losing sanity. Just when I thought I had it.
I don't want order any parts but if I could find a way to just use it as a 3 way switch. Happy.

What ever garbage wood it's made of has no bearing to me , I get if they sound good acoustically it should translate electrically.

As I have said many times before, I don't make money playing guitar. I can not justify a $3000 + guitar that's made out of the first tree that fell in Europe.

It has been written " it has wires that vibrate and give music" but mine is no " Red Barcetta "
Motor Law engaged. Lol

Back to more importance, I detected something might be wrong with the cheap switch. So I guess the Schaller Mega switch will need to get ordered.

I did have a great offer on Squire Talk , a guy offered to make me a duplicate copy of my stock pickgaurd but with the angled humbucker opening. That is probably done as I type this.He has the tools and knowledge and what a great , kind offer.

At that time I will sort out other parts in the circuit. Pots are garbage and dial in the tone circuit. Just happy I can at least make noise.

I will say that better pots, switch and cap will make an audible difference and be more reliable.

Yes , that is good advice Mr. Potato Head. I was getting great help and good advice but In my frantic moments of trying to figure out how humbuckers split I just couldn't listen. (Focus) There is a problem with diagrams in general because of some non descriptive babble.

There are way to many different types of 5 way switches and little info on imports.
Then all I heard in advertising is Oak Grisby (large)

The Schaller Mega looks real good and they have every configuration you could dream of, clearly posted.

Ureka! The guitar works , no splitting but oh well.
Fast forward. I did finally get my custom pickgaurd back. I should not complain. The guy had it a long time but he did a excellent job and charged me "0" $.
However the current cheap single ply pickgaurd in this pic is not cutting it so I am going to go to a normal HSS with a pre- made pickgaurd . CTS pots and Oak Grisby switch. I kind of wish I had left it alone but moving forward. Parts engaged.

As i ease into strats lately.. 2 & 4 are addicting to me. That Redneck thing on riffmasters was on Mexi strat & Schecter using all the dif pickup positions, Didnt have time do to work happening to dig in during the recording & those switching options made it so easy.

Have spent hours on adjusting the pickup heights to balance how to use them. From country to Korn on flick of switch .

JB's in bridge & 59's up top. Sorta like heavies & classic full lead tone with 2 & 4 being excellent slightly lower volume quick rhythm go to,

The SD everything is good at classic metal down to hard & normal rock being its strength & the Schecter being really good at heavies, Their USA pups are slightly clearer for the handling of insane gain levels. But the SD's have that mid push for coloring on edge of breakup that have come to rely on

My next obsession is a 50's pickup set up. The big fat tone but not so hot.

Lol for a month strait, utube at night listening to strat pickups until they all sound the same..

Love the look of that geetar, hope it’s working out for ya.
I love Strats, to me they are just so versatile. So easy to modify and change pickup configurations. The ergonomic form is just right to me also, I even love the location of the dreaded volume knob position. That being said I have swapped many many pickups in and out of the strats I’ve owned. I have a complete disdain for a “vintage “ bridge pickup. I also can not stand 60 cycle hum. I have found a few pickup configurations that I like, for the kind of noise I make. :ROFLMAO: :dood:

I have one Strat with my own version of an everything axe.

M- Seymour Duncan hot stack
N- Cool Rails
In another Strat a
B- Dimarzio Injector
M- Dimarzio HS-2
N- Dimarzio HS-3
Really like this guitar.
In another

M- regular single coil
N - Fender vintage noiseless
In another
B- Seymour Duncan Hot Stack plus
M- regular single coil
N- Seymour Duncan vintage stack .
I have another that has a vintage stack for Tele in it in the bridge.
My SRV still has regular single coils. The gold one on the left is in pickup limbo right now.
