My Old Recordings

Thanks for that, but I gotta give Dan credit for getting the ball rolling when he sent me his tracks sans bass, acoustic guitar, lyrics or vocals. There's a lot more I can write about that. Perhaps tomorrow.

Almost forgot to complete the story.

Dan sent me his tracks (early 2006) and invited me to collaborate with him. I added bass (a bit lost in the mix), and acoustic guitar (further lost in the mix). I wrote lyrics and sang it as best I could (not very good).

In August of 2006, Dan and I had the opportunity to perform the song (live) together at a music fest to an audience of 150 people.

Unfortunately, 5 or 6 months later, Dan (54 years old) suffered a stroke. Fortunately, he survived the stroke, but he lost the ability of being able to play mandolin and guitar. I lost track of Dan two years ago when I last read it that he was still alive and well, using his hands to paint and create other artwork.

I have collaborated with many other musicians over the course of years, but recording "The River" with Dan was a privilege.

As Paul Harvey would say,
"And now you know the rest of the story".

I'm hoping that my friend @frostyjr2 will be able to label it....close to jazz, but not close enuff.
Hey, thanks for the confidence, but i can only paraphrase what the great Louis Armstrong had to say:
There's only two kinds of music; the stuff i like and the stuff i don't like.
i like your stuff.
It's very well constructed and recorded, and there's a really nice feeling to it.
Sometimes reminiscent of Traffic in the 'John Barleycorn' era ...
i don't know if it's a suitable label, but i'd call it 'honest music'.
(y)(y)

i am getting the 'not found' message also.
Thanks for informing me @frostyjr2 . I appreciate it. I used to have a Sounclick account that I abandoned years ago, but I'm not sure if I can resurrect it. After checking my Mixsposure account it appears that I have exceeded my "quota" of uploads. That's a weird message for me to have received, considering the fact that the 9 songs that I do have there have been sitting there for at least 16 years. I'm also reading it that Mixsposure now expects it of me to pay a minimum of $6/month for storage and linkage.

Welp, that's not gonna happen. I'm going to remove those 9 songs from Mixposure.com, kill this thread, find myself another host, and move on from there.

Once again @frostyjr2
Thanks
