I know I need a photo of the guitar.
I think it's time the guitar gets a make over

It is currently a walnut color, I would like the red color on the 70's SG's.
Kind of transparent. That being said. I don't want to disturb the neck. Just the body.

I ordered a cheap set of P90's with Alnico 2 magnets mounted in humbucker rings in cream color.
Also CTS potentiometers and some cool witch hat knobs.
The pickup is the custom wound I had made. They kind of missed the mark. It's good but to over wound.

So, I played the old 2000 Road Rash Special today. It's hard to want to change it because it works well and sounds good.

I got the p90's in today and the CTS pots.
I am going to do several pickup changes.
Like musical chairs.
I love the over wound Seymour D. 59 in the Firefly "V" . I do think the LP studio pickups work very well however I think the APH might be nice in the 1990 Black studio LP. I have the custom wound, Dimarzio 36th Anniversary's.
Swapping can begin.

So, APH-1b is also here. Now I have a decision about the 1990 Black Studio LP.
APH-1b Is Reverse Zebra, I don't have a match for the neck. I have a Black Air Norton but it might be to hot?
I do have a SD 59 that might sound good in the bridge but it has a gold cover, decision?
Also have a full set of 36th anniversary in cream?

Frickin' can O worms.
I must replace the pots on the 90 Black LP studio. I will just refer to it 90black from here on.
So I ordered a Alnico ll GFS pro for the neck.

I hope it works but at this point it's just for looks. I never ever found a neck pickup I like. If it fails I might order a pagey2 from zangbucker.
I do prefer the covered look but I got a deal (excepted offer) on the APH-1 pro that is a zebra open.

If I go forward as this plan evolves the Firefly V will need a matching gold covered neck or another 59?
Move the 59 to the neck maybe and add a Pearly Gates? I have a JB so JB/59 , classic combo!
