My Next-Storage Neighbor Makes His Own Knobs...and Everything Else.

Smitty, check out Brubaker guitars in Westminster, Md.

That's pretty badass really. Dude seems to do some good looking work
The action is pretty impressive for a such a wide neck, I found it fairly surprisingly easy to play -despite my initial doubts.
Several of those parts that look like metal are machined ebony. The knobs are ebony. The string cups and strap peg are ebony.
He doesn't like the sound of metal parts...
but it's more like the neck of a cello / viola / double bass or classical guitar, instead of a modern neck profile...something wide like a lute.
I would like a fretless bass but I need to talk him into a 60s neck profile.

Hints at a lot of baroque classical influence / departure from modern.
An ebony battery door with lightning bolt inlay...

He is obviously using a LOT of high grade materials in his builds if he's going the extra miles using ebony like this. That's really incredible honestly

Kinda makes me wonder who my own storage unit neighbors are.

I hate having a storage unit though. I'm going to be clearing out of there asap.
Mcblink, I have the same problem.

I am looking at buying another enclosed trailer.
I had to get a storage unit due to Mom having her stroke and finally dying on Oct 30, 2022.

At just about $350 for 2 units, for mom's and sister's stuff, a $4000-$5000 trailer can do multiple jobs and be mobile, unlike RENT for a Storage company's pocketbook.

Last time I had a storage unit, was right before we bought our house and foolishly, I had begun buying things we needed for our house and storing them in there before we closed and moved in. One of the things was literally a 47" Sony Bravia that I bought from Sears and directly took it to the unit.

Woman who ran the joint calls me within a week and says " I think someone broke into your unit". I got there, garage door is literally smashed in, TV that was in the box still was gone, took some other stuff but left the Fridge, Washer and Dryer. I asked to see the camera footage and she goes " Oh my security doesn't work anymore" after telling me it was under CCTV when I rented the place. Then her handyman goes " Oh you need a TV? We got a bunch around here I'm sure I can give you one" Which pretty much told me everything I knew on who broke into my unit.

Called the cops, they wouldn't do jack $hit and said " We'd need a serial number" and I showed them the damn receipt and they said that wasnt good enough. So, I began pulling my stuff outta there and literally within a week, they broke it into again but didn't take anything. Got into it with that woman and flat out told her " It's pretty funny all of these units, no one gets broken into it except for mine, twice within a week. I'd say I know where my TV is then, probably sitting in your living room". She cussed me and said to get my stuff and leave. I said " Hell that's the best thing you ever said! If I stayed here another week, id be cleaned out by you".

They closed that $hithole within about a year and all over Facebook were people talking about units getting broken into and stuff going missing at that place. If she took my TV, hope it falls off the wall and smashed her

I'm always a bit nervous about that.

We've got a few facilities around that have had issues. Heard a story a while back about someone going in sideways through the walls and was able to rummage through several units undetected that way.
