Well. After a long battle with dementia, the insidious disease finally won and took my mother in law home. That was the last parent for us. I am privileged to have been invited to be a part of this incredible family. Their parents raised five kids. One sister became a pastor. Did family counseling. One sister did social work. While her brother punched a clock his entire working career, in his “spare time” he’s served his community as a volunteer and/or elected civil servant. Mrs. IbLive is a special education teacher. Baby sister is a nurse.

I’d like to share what my wife posted on FB.

“After a long hard road, we said goodbye to this amazing woman I was blessed to call mom. The connection I had with her throughout my life is indescribable. Certainly too many words for this brief tribute. She was fierce, fun, classy and sassy as some would say. My friends thought she was cool and she was. Intelligent, quick witted, and creatively talented. She was a force in your life to be sure. She is forever loved and missed, but we rejoice in that she is whole again and with our Lord, with dad and family and friends. We will see her again. In that we have peace. Love you forever, Mom.”
