My most favorite shapes for a guitar

My faves are Les Pauls and T-style guitars that are set up as close as I could get to Les Paul specs including short scale conversion necks with 12" fb radius.

Les Pauls are the most comfortable for me, between the scale length and the neck angle. I find bolt-neck guitars uncomfortable due primarily the lack of neck angle but also because most of them are 25.5" scale, which I don't find as accessible. When I play Strats I also feel like the cowboy chords are in another time zone.

Always been a sucker for nearly every type ( well minus a few exceptions .... the Firebird X And Reverse Flying V should be burned with scalding hot coffee)

But off hand? Love the Explorer for it's futuristic design ( remember, that was 1958 when people were all Going To The Hop, so WAY ahead of it's time). But the SG still might be the coolest guitar ever for it's Devils Head Silhouette design. Always going to love a nice Les Paul for its fatness and simplicity and a damn Fender Stratocaster is easily still the most popular and versatile guitar ever built ( seriously, what can you NOT do to one of them?).

Big shout outs to the Gibson AND Jackson Vs, the good ol PRS, the venerable Fender Telecaster, the ES 335/345/355, Gretsch White Falcon and a personal favorite: Gibson Byrdland

I love the Les Paul shape. I like thick guitars, not slim at all. Chunky. The US EVH Wolfgangs are an awesome shape. They are kinda like a LP but more ergonomic and modern looking. They are probably what PRS wished they had done marrying a LP and a Strat.

Maybe not know, but these are as thick as LP's and weight in the area.

The original EBMM Axis models are some of the best-playing guitars I have ever laid my mitts on. I wish I could justify the price for one but its too niche for me.

Agree! Deam guitar for me back then but it never happened. Yea, they would be extremely expensive ...especially by color.

When I bought my EVH USA it was $3500 new. Two years later they kicked them up to about 5K. They have got to be more now but I'm not even gonna look.

For lounging on the couch playing, I like the shape of an SG or a Strat the best. The contours, bevels, radii, and other comfort cuts make them ideal to play. Even a Gibson Reverse Firebird can be comfortable to play while lounging.

If I'm sitting in a chair with proper posture, I like the ES-335, Rickenbacker 330, and a Dreadnaught style acoustic the best.

While playing standing up, then I'm a bit all over the map. I love my Flying V, Jupiter Thunderbird, SGs, Les Pauls, Firebirds, Ricks, and Strats.
