It's hard to beat a Les Paul...
Couldn't agree more. I gave up even trying.

A 2007 LP Supreme. It plays great and is just darn pretty. Here’s a front and back shot. Notice anything different about the back?

Yes, much better.View attachment 84378
Is this a better pic? Used my phone instead of the new tablet.

Yeah. A forever guitar for sure. And you’ll remember her every time to play it. A legacy for sure.Speaking of Les Paul's.
My newest baby in my Avatar picture will be my forever Les Paul. As I posted in the fallen heroes section, having my mom spend her last 15 months in a nursing home, she finally passed on Oct 30, 2022. In her perfect way, Mom not only gifted me with her life as the best mom ever, but also with my 1979 Les Paul KM. In memory of my mom, I am officially naming my LP, " Jeannette"
Alex Lifeson sure made a good career using his. Somewhere along the line, I heard someone asked him why he switched back from using PRS guitars to LP's, his answerCouldn't agree more. I gave up even trying.

My first SG came to me because I missed out on a BFG on ebay about 10 years ago. Wound up with more SG's than LP's 4 to 2.There are a lot of beautiful guitars in this thread !
I've owned a handful of epiphones a few years back, I couldn't ever really nice with them.
Recently I have bought a few Gibson's. An LPJ with a maple neck that my other guitarist just had to have so I sold it to him, and these two.
A '17 tribute, and an '18 BFG. Both have Duncans in the bridge now and both are very much loved.

Haha, the crazy part about my 1st SG is I knew Gibson's normal 2 volume 2 tone controls, 1/2 wing or full wing guards, and all. But this SG arrived with no guard, only 3 controls in a row, kind of like a strat, and the toggle went opposite direction by 90 degrees than my other 3 SGs or LP norm. To go neck or bridge position on ol' 3 knob, ya switch it in the same direction as the pups. Toward neck for neck, toward bridge for bridge pup not sideways up toward the sky for neck, or down to floor for bridge pup.My first SG came to me because I missed out on a BFG back about 10 years ago. Wound up with more SG's than LP's 4 to 2.
Still one of my favorite LP's on the forum, and ya already know how I feel about the V and SG.Sadly, I only have one Les Paul…

I do have a couple/few wannabes, but only the one Gibson.
I guess I do prefer my SGs.
