Thought I'd share some of my journey playing guitar..... as in ... the family. The two acoustics were purchased in 1973 and 1974. The bass somewhere around 93. The electrics all since 2007.

Now.... the only guitar I'm a bit possessive and protective of is the Ovation. Came home to live with me Sept 1974.... about two months before my eventual bride was even a girl friend. For the record. Both are still here.

I've said before, CSNY was why I wanted to play guitar. Glen Campbell was why I bought an Ovation. This one's model number is 1617-4. Glen's signature model is 1627-4. Only difference that I can see in the actual guitar is, Glen's has his signature on the truss rod cover.... and probably something inside the body.

In 2007ish, decided it was time for an electric. Found a decent used G400. Over a period of a few years, I modded or swapped out everything on this guitar except the wood and the plastic.
  • Gibson 57 pups (used)
  • CTS pots - 50s wiring (new)
  • TonePros bridge and tail piece. (new - OEM Bridge was total crap)
  • GraphTech nut (new)
  • Gibson Deluxe Tuners (used - aesthetics, OEM tuners worked fine)
