I bought it late summer, 1989...I’m the second owner, and got it for a steal. The seller immediately wanted to buy it back, especially after messing around with the white Kramer Ferrington he had bought to replace it, (and he realized his Kramer sounded like the plinky little toy it was). Obviously, he was not able to convince me to do so.

It was the start of something small—my musical “career.”

Made in Korea. I don’t care.
It plays waaaay above it’s pay grade and has a spectacular sound...big, rich and punchy dreadnought tones.

People look down on Fender acoustic guitars, but there’s some gems out there. I don’t know who actually made this one (I doubt it ever saw the inside of a Fender factory), but I have a sister instrument from the same era and series/style (a 1986 Fender F-270CE acoustic-electric with a cutaway), and it has similar great sound, feel and stability…my daughter has claimed ownership of the F-270CE, with my blessing and approval.

It returned to prominence in my herd rotation during the pandemic when my daughter and I started playing more acoustic music.

I finally had the nut upgraded from plastic to bone and a compensated bridge installed as well. I figured after 31 years, I was probably gonna keep it...as evidenced by the pictures above, I’ve babied her and it still looks dang near new.

I can't remember my first guitar. Close to 50 years have passed. I do remember starting on nylon strings back in the 3rd grade.

I remember my first electric. Something out of a Speigel catalog.

For the memories, I wish I still had it had. The above (not mine) was recently put up for sale. But I also remember it wasn't that great of a guitar.

I do still have my first 12 string from around 1977.

This model was my first in 1974 - not my image. Action suitable for slide. I did learn full barre chords on the beast. The music shop I got it from said use .013" -056". Lighter would have been better. I did use six strings, unlike the five shown.

At one point I taped a taped open CB mic to the lower bout and had my first electric going thru the PA on the base station.

Less than a year later my neighbor who was a gear flipper was kind enough to give me this fine Kingston. Had a decent neck. Cannot recall details about the rest. Wish I had saved it. He also included a modest 8" speaker tube amp - could have been a Magnatone. Another wish save.

Loved those barre chords...

I don’t have my first guitar anymore. I traded it to a friend for an amp, after I left high school. It was an Ibanez RS 100 with a plywood body. The amp in question was a Peavey Bandit. The trade was definitely in my favor on that one.

I got the guitar new in 1983. It had a face photo wood finish that started peeling off and the bridge on those guitars was mounted in the wrong place. You couldn’t intonate it properly.

Why didn't you just go to the pawn shop in 1983 instead of being goofy and doing that? (He's a friend from ST so I'm allowed to talk that to him that way :ROFLMAO:)
