My First "Did All" Production [RETAKE]...

I wrote this a couple weeks ago and have been working on it since. It's a ballad type so some may find me vaginal. Maybe it is a little. Lol ...

As always, not perfect, but do please point out some obvious flubs. Thanks.

NOTE: THIS IS A RETAKE VID. VOCALS, GUITAR, BASS, HAVE BEEN REDONE. IT'S BETTER BUT I'D REALLY LIKE TO DO A THIRD ROUND. I THINK I FIXED THE ELECTRIC RHYTHM GUITARS THIS TIME. *ALL POSTS TO #22 HAVE BEEN ABOUT THE FIRST TAKE.*

I notice Vimeo turned the audio quality into a Casio production. Oh well.

Cool song!

Mix-wise, might wanna try volume adjusting the guitars, then compressing them. On my monitors, at least, there's a huge dynamic range on them - in some spots almost too hard to hear, in others too loud.

Thanks, RVA. Thanks for the support as things get a little better with the help of it.

Again, I know it's kinda "soft" for the board but I guess Journey would be too. I dig ballad stuff all the way to Celtic Frost, myself. Always been that way.

:beers:

I am fairly certain I have a firm lead on the soft music selections around here. Keep 'em coming!
I like Black Sabbath and I like Jim Croce. I like Led Zeppelin and I like America. Good music is good music whether it be metal or folk. Hells Bells, I like hot steak and cold ice cream. Variety is indeed the spice of life. That being said I am listening and enjoying your creation as I type this. Keep up the excellent work!!!

Thanks all. Much appreciated.

I agree there seems to be a bit too much dynamic range in the guitar. But I dig the song and the arrangement/ pacing is pretty sweet. Interesting drums too, in a good way. A little pitchy there on the outtro (as if I'm one to talk).

Thanks, bro. Yea, the guitar is roaring a bit. Probably should compress it some more. I'll put armature star on my forehead at this point but not more for sure. :)

Funny you mention the drums. My brother is a drummer very much into Dave Weckl. I grew up on hearing that style and I love it. Easy to drop in the MIDI notes but I could never play it, that's or sure. Nothing like a whip-around snare + crash smack!

Thanks, Iron! Yes, I've squeezed them up and it's a lot better. I'll get another one up. Not to mention there was too much delay and reverb. Not all a good combination.

Awesome, RVA. I've always dug the Benny Mardonos type. So did a lot of people back in the day - that stuff was on top of the world. I'll "process" more. For some reason those come to my head pretty easy.
