Hmm, after watching those tiny hands playing that 7 stringer guitar, well, kind of makes me wonder if I shouldn't take another stab at playing full thickness les pauls (which my embattled left hand doesn't seem to care for - upper frets wise).

Funny thing about NP...I am a Graphic Artist by trade, and at the time that the first Nashville poonanny full-length album (Let Them Eat poonanny) came out I worked at a firm in West LA that did a lot of work for Virgin Records and its subdivisions, and we worked on the album art and print advertising for the album. So the Virgin people gave us copies of the record to "inspire" us and I guess I still kind of think what I thought at the time about the band: They are a far less talented copy of the Supersuckers that are using the two chicks in the band to sensationalize what they are doing.

I might remind you of that album cover:

I really feel like if they didn't have that name and those chicks with their business hanging out that not one person would have cared. YMMV of course.

Not to say the members don't have talent but I've always felt like whatever I've heard from them I've heard somewhere before done a lot better.

When Corey Parks left the band, it was far less of a freak show. They had a succession of good bassists since. Tracy Almazon (Helldorado, Jane Lee Hooker), Katie Lynn Campbell (C'mon), Karen Cuda (Hemi Cuda), and now Bonnie Buitrago all added a bit more seriousness onto the stage. They became a bit more of a redneck AC/DC, with an attention whore of a lead guitar player. They are still damn good fun to see live, which is probably their best suit.
