My Corona

And don’t get me started on hoarding... It is a prime example of egoistical behavior devoid of any solidarity towards fellow human beings. There is no shortage of food (or toilet paper), UNLESS PEOPLE START HOARDING. Then many of people will not be able to get what they need because of all the bozos out there.

Fundamentally, I agree.

I think this is a little different in its motivation, though. I think there are two possible motivators:

One, I think people are worried that supply may eventually be affected, if those businesses close down or suffer a decrease in supply capacity.

Two, I think people are preparing for the possibility of becoming infected themselves. In this case, they’ll essentially be on lockdown and have to self-quarantine for a couple of weeks. It would be a real drag to run out of toilet paper and not be able to get more!

Honestly, I have thought about this second point because the first confirmed case in my town here was announced yesterday. The person is being responsible and self-quarantining, which is good. But, don’t think this hasn’t made me think about running out and getting a few extra packages of toilet paper, just in case I get infected!

Latest update on the hoarding from Morris Ill, this morning.
My buddy said Walmart looked pretty picked over and sent me this pic.

The wife went to our local Publix in Parrish Fl. around noon and they were out of toilet paper, Kleenex and cleaning products.
Chicken was running low as well.
Insanity is setting in with the masses. o_O

Walmart here was the same no Spray cleaner products or wet wipes----no toilet paper---

Im curious about the toilet paper fascination----

symptoms of the virus read as such:

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is characterized by mild symptoms including a runny nose, sore throat, cough, and fever. Illness can be more severe for some people and can lead to pneumonia or breathing difficulties.

uhm the "sHIts" arent listed in there at all..........--

--not sure about the rest of the world but a regular 8 pack of butt ribbon lasts the misses and I several weeks -- perhaps a month --

the bleach based cleaners--- and hand sanitize I understand -- but the t.p. still confuses me...

First you get diarrhea.
Then you get a sore throat for about 3/4 of a day long.
Then it crawls down into your lungs and you get pneumonia.
Then you can't breath.
Then you croak.

Then your toilet paper holdings are divided amongst the next of kin.

But have no fear, because you will be immortalized into the Tone Rooms Hall of Fallen Stars, and shall not be forgotten (easily).

Ive held a moderate sore throat for a couple weeks due to seasonal allergies and sinus drainage---tht happen every spring
lungs are fine so far I am happy to report

Shop Rite here, no pic but the entire aisle of toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, and facial tissues completely empty.
My wife will be scavenging at dollar stores, etc. for at least a few single rolls or 4 packs of toilet paper.
We have probably 2 weeks worth? (never really thought about it).
NOt panicking, but nice to have a supply.

Lots of other stuff cleaned out too.
Bottled water (we use the Brita pitcher), cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer.
We have enough soap and / or rubbing alcohol + skin lotion.

I told anyone who would listen in a strong accent "Empty shelves? This is nothing!! In Mother Russia, all shelves empty!!".
I guess I'll just have to hold it and poop at work every day, LOL.

Strange Days, my friends, strange days.

So, is too farfetched?
I'm assuming this highly contagious strain of flu originated in China. A very unusual characteristic of the coronavirus is that it concentrates its damage on the elderly. Children and other young people are not as affected like they would be from other types of flu viruses, even though they are quite capable of being carriers of this virus.

Here's the farfetched part: Could this have been a bio warfare created to thin China's elderly population? I mean, if some of their leaders have desperately come out and publicly accused the USA's military of contaminating them, then maybe they are desperate enough to commit genocide on their own people. Sorry for the dark thoughts.

I would suggest a bidet, but those have all sold out now too. Just get one sometime and thank me later. They're incredible....:pound-hand:

I did just turn on the outside water and hook up the garden hose.......
Funny you mention that, I get pop up ads for them in ad spots on some of my Google pages.

Always reminds me of the movie "Demolition Man".

I suppose just about any theory is possible, but the current line of thinking is that this was a virus that affected animals and mutated and then “jumped” from animals to humans. There is a large live animal market in Wuhan, China - where this is thought to have started.

Our upcoming shows are all cancelled, including the album launch party on April 4. As we haven't played at all since November and haven't played at home since September we were really looking forward to them, but we have too many people at risk in the band and in our families for us to even do band practice. Our last meeting for a while will be this Saturday to finish the mastering and then we will go into songwriting mode until this poop calms down
