My Classical Guitar...

I've upload some pictures of my 1990 Takamine Jasmine classical guitar onto Imgur. I bought it in 1990 for around $500 new not including the hard shell case. I bought a hard shell bullet proof case to go with it. This guitar is a real joy to play and I never had to make a truss-rod adjustment on it. Since the guitar is 28 years old now the wood had time to season and it's a very resonant guitar. I've taken classical guitar classes back in high school in the 80's and learned a lot of music theory and reading of music. After I graduated from high school I thought I'd get a classical guitar of my own and this guitar turned out to be a winner. I love the wood on this fine instrument.

That's a nice looking guitar. Does it have a low action like a Flamenco guitar? That would make it super-nice to play. Mine is a 17th century German lauten - an early crossover from lute to guitar. It also plays well, and has scalloped frets.

Hey nice guitar there you have Don...that is something different that I rarely see. The action on my guitar is comfortably low but not super low like on a Flamenco guitar which I heard before having very low action. The strings don't hardly buzz at all anywhere along the fret board and it seems to have good intonation. It sure has a huge neck on it compared to other guitars.

I like a wide neck on a classical guitar - something mine really doesn't have. A wide neck makes you discipline your fingers and play correctly. Not sure I'm explaining that well, but I promise I know what I mean...

It sure does have a very wide neck and the fret board is completely flat so it does have a different feel to it compared to a steel string acoustic guitar. I like the wide neck a lot for playing notes much easier anywhere on the FB. You're right and it does discipline your fingers and play correctly. That's how I learned in high school.

Very nice Black, I have a Jasmine electric cutaway that just sits in her case. Rarely do I play acoustic.

Thanks for all the replies and compliments. I've taken good care of this guitar and always put it back in it's very protective case when not using it. It does need eventually a new set of strings and I have some classical guitar books that show how to tie on new strings at the bridge. I guess if I was Willie Nelson my guitar would look like this by now.
