As I write this, I am fighting back the tears and still reckoning with the news of the passing of one of the friendliest and most likeable man I ever met in my life. RIP to my fellow Brown SG playing buddy, MITCH Ivanoff.

That's a big man with a gentle touch on that guitar. Sounds like his character is like that, too. Sorry for your loss, Chili.

R.I.P. Mr. Mitch Ivanoff…

Greg, Mitch's character was definitely like a magnet. When I first met him, a friend invited me to come see ' a band" called Krypton City Blues Revue at a local pub in Hanover Pa where they played from time to time. I arrived and got a nice seat right near Mitch and watched his masterful touch on his Strat. After some time, I called my friend who lived about 5 minutes away to see where he was. He told me he decided not to come, So I got to enjoy the band and meet and talk to Mitch personally. That night started our friendship. In the near future after that, the band seemed to break up and if I were to be able to see Mitch play again, I would have to ask him for his schedule. This is when I also met his mom per se. Mitch told me to contact her since she was the head honcho of the Blues Society up there in PA. My story unfolds with that conversation in how she basically never heard of me but treated me as if I were family or an old friend. She gave me directions to a pub up across the Susquehanna and made sure I had good understanding of her directions. Sadly if my memory serves me right, this would be the last time I saw Mitch live and alive even. Over the years, we'd talk on the computer, but my chances to see him never lined up with the journey his performances would provide.

That last gig was packed, lots of good food and beer etc for patrons, awesome band to accompany Mitch and even some cool showmanship from the big man. His big surprise was one to make me smile. During one song he basically took a stroll off stage and into the crowd, then right out the front door and into the parking lot as he played wireless and never missed a note.
This night also got me to see a couple of his guitars I didn't know he had and some stories behind them. The first was an ES 335 type Harmony guitar and the 2nd was his Brown SG. He told me he went to the Towson Maryland Guitar Center for that SG because they got the good ones. When I bought my Faded Special, I got my dream SG. Now I always think of Mitch whenever I play it.

Bro Mitch, thanks for your friendship good buddy.
