My amps

So apparently I haven't posted my amps here. Thought I had. My bad! I have a bunch.

I don't really think of it as a "collection." That implies to me that a lot more planning/thought went into the acquisition than I have done. It's basically just whatever floated by locally, at a very good price.

Because of the numbers, I only take group shots every few years, haha. I'm due for another, to be honest. The last was almost 3 years ago. It took all day to stage. Here ya go:

I still have most of the above. But not all.

I sold the blond MosValve. It'd stopped working anyhow. So I sold it to a buddy to use as a speaker cab. I also sold the little Vox Valvetronix, as I rarely used it, and I had just bought the AC30, so it felt a little redundant. I sold the Laney solid state 1x10 combo in the back row too, and last, the Crate BX200 bass head (back left, on the big SVT fridge) when I found a replacement with over twice the power.

So, four gone. I also have listed sale one of the 3 '80s solid state Marshall combos (the 50W 1x12 in the slightly larger cab than the 20W and 75W ones), but no one's biting.

Now, the post-2022 incoming!

Marshall model 3210 Lead 100 MOSFET solid state head:

Fender Bassbreaker 18/30 2x12. Dual amplifier circuits, 30W clean channel (based on the 30-watt Blackface Deluxe) and 18W dirt (based on the 18-watt '61 Brown Deluxe):

And an SVT450:

That's all folks!

Any questions gladly answered. And yes I'm married.

:rolf:Oh you did!!!:rolf:I am NOT complaining
Your first post on the forum was glorious, and amp-filled!!! That was many moons ago though.
Looks like I’m stuck in italics mode….more coffee needed…
Hmm, I must've posted that in the welcomes section or something, I did a search of prior posts in this (amps) section and didn't see one.

Thanks for the reminder, will have to go back and see what I did where, haha!

It was (quite literally) your first post on the forum. I see the big “amps in front of the garage” pic on the main page, random images, every now and again. It always gets my attention because:

I do love the tuck n roll…especially the blue sparkle…and so much more, in that pic.

Ooh that's a nice burst on that T-40! I have one of the plain/natural Northern Ash ones.

I have seen it before. Must take quite some time to set up.

It's a fanatstic collection. Nice variety, most of mine are Marshalls.
I have some pics from a few years ago. Had to do em in 2 shots, can't set em all up at once.
Some have changed and I need to do some new shots.
They almost all get played out except the Yamaha THR and Marshall Lead 12.

The 6505 combo is gone as is the JMD1 head seeing as I found a JMD combo. The full size head means I need a full width cab too and give that I might as well just use the JVM. Combo gives lots of versatility for smaller venues.

The 3 channel Traynor head is also gone.

I have added a Traynor YCV4050 in a lovely deep green, very ballsy amp with a Creamback 65. A hidden gem.
Also a Mesa MkV 35 just a super little combo. Hard to find a combo witb 2 dirty channels. Then the TC100. Very Marshally sounding. Versatile.
Mojotone angled 2x12 cab.

Will take pics and reviews of the 2 new ones.

Okay. You guys shamed me into it. Here's my "HUGE" collection.

Bought this in 1974. YGM3. 20 watts. Single 12" Original Marsland 12" has been replaced with a 12" Celestion V30.

jECy1XP.jpg

This is an early 70s Vibro Champ. 5 kick butt watts into a single 8" This one actually came with my bride when we got married in 78. She plays guitar as well, just not often these days.

WCFmxIl.jpg

And lastly. This is my youngest kid's bass amp. At 400w going into 4-10"..... it'll make the bedroom walls vibrate and windows rattle if you want it to. Don't ask me how I know. It also makes a decent acoustic amp. My Ovation acoustic will feed back at almost no volume running thru the Traynor. Messing around one day I plugged into the bass amp. Don't remember that I ever did get it to feedback. Never really figured that one out.

You still have the Marsland 12?

You need another spare amp, what if one breaks during a set?

You’re absolutely spot on!!! The number of available amp heads is woefully dwarfed by the sheer cornucopia of available combo amps! Some might call that situation recklessly risky….not me…..but “some”….
