Then there ELP. “Lucky Man.” Story goes that Lake wrote the song when he was 12. While recording their debut album they were one song short and Lake played this song for them. Band didn’t like it, but Palmer put in some time with Lake and together by the time everyone got back together they had their final song for the album…. And one of their biggest singles. Lake wrote about it in his book “Lucky Man.”
