No judgement, but there are forums where the consensus is "chugga chugga" riffs with "cookie monster" vocals is the pinnacle of music - and everything else sucks.

I think it's a 2 sided coin..

People like different things, and that's fine.

Having said that, some music genres really do suck.

I could care less if you don't like them, as ironic as it may be. But they are very much not a chugga chugga cookie monster song band. Progressive/ alt metal, which is not for everyone. But I think they are fantastic, and I am not a chugga chugga guy at all.

Primus: prog-math-rock-with a touch of gravitational-trig-theory-but with a sense of self awareness and humor.
I think: Polyrhythmic Zappa, when listening to Primus. May not be for everyone.

My only experience with "math rock" would be Perfect Circle..

Supposedly Billy Howerdel used some mathematical formula to write all the chord progressions and riffs (Fibonacci sequence?).

To me it’s more about odd meter time signatures. Also alt chord progressions.
