MOTM (Meeting Of The Motorhead's) Arizona Chapter:

Took a little time off our vacation schedule today to meet up with fellow TTR member Chas Fred.

What a genuinely nice fellow. Had a great time chatting and subjecting Sam Ash to some sonic vandalism.

Chas busted out some great, jazzy phrases on my Les Paul:

The Roland had really great clean tones and I can see why its so popular! Overdrive is just not very dynamic. It wouldn't work for what I play.

Robert also tried the Boss Katana 50. For $219 and the free software this amp IS killer. Spent this morning checking out vids on YouTube.
Robert, I think I might have to get one.
I feel a AAS (Amp Acquisition Syndrome ) starting to develop.

Very cool pics.
Hopefully we'll get to meet Chas next, down here in the swamp.

Just hope his visit isn't the last week in August...

The Katana definitely has a lot of diversity....

I'd swear that first picture was Wav if I didn't know better!

...and I have a Katana 100 Head and thoroughly recommend it!

I want to be totally honest about something. Recently, as I have spent more and more time playing - really playing - each time I play a different guitar and amplifier, I realize how absolutely perfect my current setup really is...

It is GREAT when you find the "ONE" is it not RObert?

--- guess that is why so many top pro musicians use just 1 or 2 guitars for many many many years....and many songs--- you know where you are on it-- you know what sounds it will give you at any given moment and it becomes a constant companion and tool-- not a question mark of exploration---

Like riding a good Motorcycle
or a trusty horse......

you can go off on trails unknown because you know the guitar will bring you home......

Knowing I have a Blackstar ID-CORE 100 watt, that was the first amp I plugged into because I am comfortable with it. There was a guy, his wife and teenage son amp shopping. He politely asked me to move my guitar case so he could grab a Blackstar 40 watt.

I kept my volume down, while a couple of other guys seemed like they were having a Djent volume contest, and I just let myself get lost in some of my solos, running lots of reverb and spatial delay effect.

The dad kinda hung around Chas and me for a few minutes and was asking the sales guy about all the differences in the floor amps. After a bit, i noticef they carried the remaining Blackstar ID-CORE 100 watt up to the counter and checked out.

What a great starter amp that kid is gonna get!!!
