So...a big, "Howdy" to my fellow Strat lovers.

Post up the most iconic tones that you associate with the mighty Fender Stratocaster.

(Yes, I know the amplifier makes a huge difference...but I don't feel like talking about amps, right now!)

I'll start.

This isn't necessarily my favorite Strat tone, but it's right up there with the most iconic sounds.

If this ain't strat tone, than I don't know what is. I'm not even sure he's using a strat, but it sure sounds like it.

I saw Jimi a bunch of times and always loved the way he dressed on stage
but
I would never be able to get away with it being a short bald Sicilian with glasses.

I gotta throw this one in.

Nile Rodgers uses the Strat to great effect for those nice, clean, percussive Strat tones.

There is always the incomparable Buddy Guy for those nice, thick, bluesy Strat leads.

I bet Rory would approve Greatly. Robert

I hope so...I really had high aspirations of meeting him one day....I am no Rory, but I catch little bits of him in my playing. I used to sit in front of the TV and play along to him on the Old Grey Whistle Test shows...

Road To Hell is so familiar to me. It's as if all his phrasing and scale construction make natural sense to me...
