Mod fever, anyone?

I have a cheapo strat that plays well. I seem to change the configuration every six months (HSS, HH, SSS).

A 40 watter and helping hands (equipment with a bunch of roach clips) is all I need.

"Anyway, on a completely different tangent, just a few words from Bergen after eating a nice long breakfast. I'm lying on the sofa, Chubby Checker is twisting again on the radio, and I'm sipping to a nice cup of coffee from a roastery called "Cuba Life" in my hometown Kristiansand. The roaster himself is from Guatemala and the beans are grown in Guatemala, by the roaster's dad. Now the Aussies the Bee Gees are playing. My wife is sitting next to me, knitting a sweater with yarn made from Shetland wool. It's a small world, really. Have a nice day, guys. And have fun modding those guitars!"

Sounds awesome, man !!!

I'm glad I have my guitars and amps at a stopping point. Now I can focus more completely on our Performances and expanding our setlist out to 80 songs.

I gave away another guitar last week. I'm thinning things out...

Mods all started with car models..then slot cars..then bikes..model rockets...go carts..motorcycles..then the biggie the Hot Rods....still trying to figure out who came up with work 5 days &only play 2? (well i am on 24/7 but pretend it aint so) that is so backwards...we need more play time !!

i Did it all wrong..should of got my "amp" set first..then saw what needed...it wast until a jtm50 then jtm45 with fender power led me to Silverface Super & Pro..so glad i kept kept all my non metal guitars with lower out put pickups..man they shine...so much stuff is going now cause of finding that baseline sound for studio & live...it didnt happen until i got out of the house playing & into the studio again this year...i was way too bass heavy..way too much gain for a proper sit in a mix.....all pre amp shape MV amps are gone...no more super efficient speakers needed or wild gain..its almost a relief & a lot less noisier. Sometimes think the earlier years of metal have me so boxed in & narrow minded..everything so on top of itself...it's hard to let go of but the audience sure expands & ability to play dif venues with dif bands. opens up.

Most of mine are stock, or pretty close. Since I really have only bought used guitars (with only a few exceptions), I bought them chasing something in particular. That something would usually be some sound I was looking for with particular stuff I had in mind with bands I was playing in at the time. Rare exceptions being my taste in sound changing over the years. '60s SGs with DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups were always cheap, and they had a good crunch to them. As I bought better amplifiers, I realized I liked the sound of low output '50s PAF style pickups better, and made the swap. The same goes for my '85 Les Paul that sounded terrible with the Shawbuckers in it. That also now has '59 spec pickups in it. Otherwise, most of my guitars are as exactly as I bought them.

I've thought the same thing. I kind of wish I would have held off on getting a bunch of guitars until I got squared away with a really good amp.

But, I think most players chase the guitars first, then think about the amp. When you think about it, we don't play a guitar. We play an amplifier, and the guitar is just the pitch controller.
