Mini-Rectifier annoyance

So I am trying to dial in the EPI 335 to the Mini-Rec, and the HARDEST thing to deal with are the Frigging knobs on this amp.
You have small all chrome knobs with no GOOD position markers. There is a small detent with a brass insert it looks like, but it is near impossible to see.
I think it is time to use some of the wife's nail polish on these knobs.

At the moment the jury is still deliberating on this EPI / Mesa combination.
I may even drag out the Old Gibby GA-15 RVT to try also.
 
Th knobs drove me crazy at first too. After a while I just told myself that you dial in an amp with your ears not your eyes, and just learned to ignore where the knobs were pointed.
One time I did take a look at where they actually were and was a little surprised to find that I had the amp set (red channel) with the bass essentially off and the mid close to that. Treble was high, like 9:00. But thats where my ears and that specific speaker cabinet put them, haha.

My Mark 5 definitely, without question, has the most sensitive tone stack of any amp I have plugged into. If you lool at the thing wrong it’ll completely change the whole nature of the tone. Since I am impatient I tend to run the tone knobs at around noon on everything and do the final tone shaping with the GEQ. My Mini Tec is not so sensitive.
