Mesa Filmore 50

God that sounds great.
i usually use a little reverb to get a little depth, i have to work on learning my delay pedal better.
cant get any good chorus with dirt either.
interested in tremolo; my excuse to build a 6g2 clone maybe...

Never been a fan of Mesa Boogie, I've had a couple Dual Rec's and had nothing but problems with them, not to mention I'm pretty old school and don't care for 6L6 tubes (unless they're in a Fender.) I love EL 34's, much warmer to my ears. in fact I shipped off my Bogner 20th Anniversary Shiva and had them pull the KT 88's (to Hi-Fi sounding.) and convert it to EL 34's, sound is like night and day.

With that being said, I had the opportunity to play a Mesa TC 100, wow, they nailed that one! 3 channel, EL 34 based and individual power attenuators on each channel! Very cool amp, thinking I'll be putting one in that stable soon, check it out.

I'm afraid to try one out. It would be all too easy to rationalize a "need" for one of these things.

As I am sitting here presently noodeling on the soloist and bathed in the lovely tones of the Mesa/Boogie F-30.....I am motivated to inquire----------WHY?

Why I have owned a few Mesa amps. My amps I build get the sound I have wanted as an example I love the EF86 preamp tube in V-1 no Mesa amp ever used that tube.

The big one is I have serviced a few hundred Mesa amps and I'm not a servicing dealer so parts like transformers and boards I can't get.
A friend is a sales and service dealer Mr. Smith requires photos of the failed parts serial numbers then send the parts to mesa before they send the new parts.
So most repairs you will have a month of down time I try my best same day service.

uhm............how many of the "F 30's" do you get in?????

just curious---

I really LOVE mine--- I do use it A LOT---like HOURS at a time-- sometimes I will turn it on at 5 or 5:30 and it wont shut down till ---er 8-- 8:30 ---

is this bad for the amP??? -- Again Curious -- I have "back up" -- but Damn Hackmaster and Chasfred, and others---have me ADDICTED to this thing --- took a week or so of "futzing" to dial in the tones--- but I now have a tri channel amp (2 plus "contour--which is just BALLS OUT METAL) that I can simply PLUG in the guitar -- no pedals-- no messing about -- not touching amp knobs now-- the MEsa is SO responsive the VOL/Tone on the guitar are all I need to get a million different voicings.......
