MEsa clone pedal by joyo

well I couldnt resist and got the big white one in te opening post (says JOYO on it -- but same deal)
through the Origin 20 ,........ frankly it sounds like ASS

FOR REFERENCE I have owned 2 mesas and have played several Dual Rectifiers including @Hackmaster s

the pedal "in the room" through the origin was .......muddy -- bloody poo

through the PEavey Valve King 20 head.............................................(clean channel) .....add the joyo --- and it was MESA-FICATION in spades - chugga mugga licious metal Cali and... I was happy ......and I was CHUGGIN and power chording to my silliest.............. for a couple hours !
then --- on a whim I decided to click the pedal off and plug into this

and ...... well I maybe contacting amazon to return the pedal ........... becasue the TIGHT metal crunch fest of the 8020 dirt channel......... SPANKS the joyo pedal (by MILES)
the pedal "gets there" but...........
the Marshall SS amp ...... made early 90's at the very tail end of the HAIRBAND (california) metal scene rock DOMINANCE ... and designed to capture "that tone" .................................does..... in spades

tight chest punch metal to a "T"

So, it makes a PV sound sort of like a Mesa? (chugga mugga licious)
But it don't sound as good as 8080.
:pound-hand:I'm not sure where all this leads to....except back to the start of all that was holy.
 
If it was true, nobody would have a Mesa amp. Likewise,

If the "Marshall in a box" were true, nobody would have a Marshall either....

Good amps sound good with zero use of pedals. Especially Chinese pedals. That said, I do have a joyo zombie that's pretty awesome, and the Friedman BEOD is also pretty awesome.....but totally unnecessary with the correct amp choices

they both sound good -- but it is different-- different tones/feels the 8020 DOES the beastie boys "fight" guitar tone -- exact -- perfection -- all day long (not worth much else) but it does THAT SOUND --- if you are in the MOOD for THAT sound its perfect -- if your playing some Tele blues riffs like Tab Benoit or Muddy Waters.......... then no it sucks
the PV will do metal-- mayhem-- heaven and hell and the litty itty bitty gritty bluesi thing as well. ....... it is extremely versatile
