Mesa Boogie question

I was thinking the other day. Besides maybe Carlos Santana, are there any other big name guitarists that use Mesa for clean/low gain guitardom? High gain seems to be covered.

Marshall has Angus, Jimi, early Clapton, and Fender has a laundry list of names. But I couldnt think of a Mesa guy.

Good topic.
best boogie tone ever Pepper Keenan with 50 Cal + wish kept that one

Now, i have tried many times to go Boogie & primarily focused on the lower gain side of things recently. Even got the RectoVerb 50 which is very versatile. I could def play them but their is something inherently sterile or stiff that bothers me on the low gain side of things. Much prefer the Fender circuit or Vox when playing in that tone zone. Got very lucky with the MIG 50 its BF cleanish with a Marshall mid hump.. It sent the recto bye bye,,which is wild cause no loop. no 2nd channel with 3 modes. just a strait up slam the front in with pedals & have at it.

I agree completely, there really haven't been too many although I'm sure many of the big names used that for a short time when they seemed to be all the rage.

For cleans and low gain? At various points in time: Al Di Meola, Todd Rundgren, Prince. There are a lot of Nashville session players on big name albums that use the Lonestar alot for country-ish sounds

I only own a Mesa MK3 100 watt blue stripe and a 2 x 12 Mesa cabinet

Love Mk3's. They seem to have been largely overlooked between the Mk2C+ and Mk4 but they have their own thing going on and theysound killer.

My uncle had a Marshall JMP 2203 and a Laney AOR100, each running a Carvin 4x12 throughout the bulk of the 1980s. He actually sold both heads ( kept the cabs) plus some cash to order a Mesa Boogie Mark 3 Green Stripe from the factory. While that is certainly dedication to one amp, I would personally say that was an incredibly dumb decision in hindsight lol though he did have that amp up until his death in 2010.

However, when we were cleaning out his apartment and recording studio afterwards, that amp was nowhere to be found, along with many pieces of recording equipment ( he had a lot of unsavory degenerate scumbags hanging around leading up to his passing)
