Mesa Amps:

Another brand of amps, that IMO sound exceptional from some of the video's out there, is Synergy Amps. These are still tube amps but with preamp modules designed by well known heavyweights like Fryette, Friedman, Engl, Bogner, Diezel, Soldano, Morgan, Metropolous, and (Steve) Vai.

Homework time for Robbie-Bobbie:

Right???

Down here, I get the opportunity to play a lot of unique amps that I would - otherwise - never know about!!!!
Robert, I knew about the Mk's, and the Recto's, and like I said, 50 Cal's, Heartbreaker, Subway's, F30/F50 and the bass head a buddy had, the Bass 400/400+ and I recognize some of the other Bass amps.

When I think of Boogie, I think of THIS.

Personally, I’ve more or less given up on the endless run of Marshall and Fender and I specifically decided to try something new. Hence, the Rivera. I have not been disappointed!

My new work demands more versatility. That's really my motivation. When I was playing in a Judas Priest Tribute, I used (2) DSL40C's and never, ever switched on a clean channel.

TBTH, I think a JVM410C would have done the job easily, but at 77 pounds, getting it into my trunk ruled it out.

I liked the functionality of some of the Bugera amps, but I've decided to stick with either UK or US made from here on out.

Does it absolutely have to be a combo? What about an amp head with and a 2x12 speaker cab... or 1x12 speaker cab?

Ideally, a combo would take up less space, but I might make an exception for the right head/cabinet.

Width: 621mm / 24.4"
Height: 490mm / 19.3"
Depth: 252mm / 10"

These are perfect combo dimensions that fit in my trunk. My 2x12 cabinet is made to fit into my trunk, despite being 29" wide.

I haul the head, seat belted into the front seat.

The cabinet I built for my 12” Eminence measures exactly 18”x 18”x 10.5“. I could have made it shallower but was trying to match the depth of the head. Is building your own cabinet out of the question?

My custom 2x12 fits in my trunk perfectly. But, I could easily build one if needed.

What are your impressions???
I had almost settled on one then went and plugged the TC100 back in. Easier to set, had the sound I liked. Depends how one uses it I guess.
Channel 2 on the Mk V didn't have quite enough gain for me unless I used the Mk 1 setting which is very dull and lacks any high end so to save a lot of farting around I woild have to use the graphic with that channel all the rime. A way around this is to ise ch 3 for higher gain and simply activate the solo boost. I like some extra gain for so.os so prefer a channel change for solos.
It takes lots of time fiddling to get your sound set thw firsttime. Once set, magnificent. I found the TC more Marshally and it just suited me better.
I am still tempted to try the MkV again.
The 35 is similar, very small footprimt so I wll use it lots.
