We collectively are old and unfortunately others will be joining Kev soon. How big do we want these things to be and who decides who gets a memorial and who doesn't?

That sounds like a plan no one should be able to disagree or find umbrage with. Create a memorial room and if 'ANY' member passes start a memorial thread for them. Sounds reasonable to me...
