Marshall DSL100HR light issue.

hi guys

this is the second time that my amp has this issue, when it happened the first time I sent to Marshall for repair. After less than a year(I think) it has the same issue again.

Any idea why this happening?

If I send it to Marshall again it will take month and month till I get my amp back. Will it be better if I take it local amp repair shop?

This amp is getting on my nerves now..

The light bulb leads are crimped inside the switch, and the crimping has probably oxidized. Crimp connections often fail from oxide.
Smoke machine vapors on stage will cause all kinds of corrosion inside the amp....

There are different switches, with different light configurations.
The best thing to do is call Kevin and get the exact part number for the replacement.
Then order the part from a Marshall dealer.
Other than that, the leads slide on to the switch (faston connectors). Just make sure the same wire goes back on the same terminal.

See @Ramo ? Always someone smarter at explaining this than my rambling lol i didnt think about female stab terminals ( fastons). Neither my SLX or JCM2000 used them, just factory soldered but there is no reason on earth a connector wouldnt have worked either

If i get part is it easy to change?

When i was over there, i found that a lot of the street vendors had some of the better Fish N Chips, while the pub's were kinda crappy. Left skin on which is a deal breaker for me and a lot of times it was soggy, but the vendors i visited, had perfectly clean fish and not over battered and greasy.

But i ate more in pubs than anywhere else, cause the restaurants id walk into were snobby a lot of the times ( some places were really cool like Bill Wyman's Sticky Fingers). The pubs were just street level and down to earth. Funny how that worked out lol

Pubs are great i miss those times when i could sit have a beer and have my fag (cigarette) i dont like restaurants man for same reason. Here i know good places as you know i drove cab so i know whole city places to go for whatever you fancy ;)

Here is a little story about switches and myself, I replaced a light switch in my living room and 2 days later I had to do it again because it failed.
So in the case of the amp in 1979
$ 12.00 for another (in my mind) for Marshall to send me another one, and the 2 week wait I just said screw it, and fish n chips sound good.. :beers:

Absolutely! Pubs are full of cool people and interesting stories. Very laid back! And yeah i found out just how valuable cabbies are in the UK: not just folks who can get you around town fast but they know everything. You want a real tour of the area and find out every hot spot? Take a cab
