Marshall being sold to Chinese conglomerate

The more I think on it the more likely I think it is that they will move production of the models currently being made in Vietnam (with Chinese parts) to China. The MIE amps will continue to be made there. Not basing this on anything other than a hunch though.

My friend George wanted me to move my tool company to Vietnam cost of living is 28% compared to USA
the one catch is I would have to live in Vietnam George claimed they would steel anything that was not nailed down
George did he went from a millionaire to a billionaire George they have gambling dept and would work 3 shifts if allowed

I'm kind of leaning that direction, too.

Sheepishly raising my hand to ask a couple of questions here.
Are there any brands of guitar amps that are 100% designed and manufactured in either North or South America that doesn't have components in them that weren't manufactured in China? What possible difference should that make or matter?

If you buy an amp and you like it, that's great.

If you buy an amp and don't like it.
1) Try to sell it.
2) Keep trying to sell it.
3) Can't find a buyer? No problem.
4) Give it away for free.
5) Can't even find someone who'll take it off your hands for free? Again, no problem.
6) Shoot the amp and bury it.

<lowering hand>

Well, this is rather annoying. It seems that smilies and other emoticons from my cellphone are completely unacceptable here at TTR.
Why is that?

It's not so much that they aren't "acceptable". It's more that they aren't necessarily supported by the forum software. However, there is an option to add emoticons in the toolbar when you are creating your post. You may have to tap a "More Options" menu (a set of three vertical dots) to access the emoticon tool when using your phone.

If you want to insert your own emoji you’ll need to upload it as a picture file. Animated gifs can work this way too.
