Awesome !
Im playing through a ton of his stuff in the mornings...
That's awesome. I have a little noodle-station next to my desk (DSL-1 and a TS-9) and I been playing along with a lot of these songs.
I'm using the "God's Love" preset on GR6....
I saw Zack the one night he filled in for Dickie Betts with the Allman Brothers at the suggestion of one of their management staff. It was very unimpressive to say the least. He may have learned a bunch since then, maybe not. Who knows. But it was enough for me to look at everything he does with a grain of salt. And I was a fan before that night. No so much since.
Truthfully, the only person you should doubt is the fool that thought that was a good idea and talked him into it.
Dickie couldn’t do what Zakk does any more than he did or not do what Dickie did. A bad idea shouldn’t sour you on a guy who is still giving us the thing in rock music we all say we miss.
I was going to say I was never a fan of the Allman Brothers and for that reason I wouldn't know if it was being played right or not. Just was never my cup of tea. I know there are tons of fans.I've lived through that scenario....being pulled into a band as a "fill-in" when it really wasn't my thing. Its a no win situation.
I've honestly never been able to listen to a complete work by Allman Brothers. Absolutely nothing wrong with them, just nothing "musically captivating" about their work.
I'm way too heavy in my tastes for the chicken-picken style of music....
At the time, Zakk had come out with his southern rock thing Pride and Glory. Supposedly, he had an ABB tribute band going in L.A., and seemed like a logical choice to be able to cover two to three hours of music real fast. The finger tapping in the solos was funny, and members of the band were cracking up watching him. But apparently, his manager forgot to tell him to leave the Crazy Train in Hollywood. His lack of professionalism such as spitting beer at the audience and people on stage , and other antics could have been saved for a different fill-in. Especially if he wanted to play a few more dates.Truthfully, the only person you should doubt is the fool that thought that was a good idea and talked him into it.

Wow yeah that doesn't work. The tapping, well, ya gotta play like yourself but the rest? Seems like a very poor choice. At the time, Zakk had come out with his southern rock thing Pride and Glory.
