Here's another gem from the 11/12/2018 performance. A request was shouted out for 'Man On The Silver Mountain,' but the band's resident lead guitarist wasn't familiar with it, so I took over both lead and rhythm duties on this track. I hadn't played this song (all the way through anyways) in quite a few years myself!!!
Again, this is a D.I. out from my VS265 and played on my 1987 Squirecaster with Gibson 500T/496R. The track is 'panned to center' with no mixdown or effects work added. I ran some delay only at the amp and my constant companion - my Boss NS-2 - can be heard doing his part at the beginning. The only post-recording editing done was to remove some of the 'bleed-over' from the other instruments for clarity.
Now I play it quite differently than the Blackmore version, but I think you might enjoy it. The solo was just something I threw together on-the-fly because I couldn't remember the original solo. The solo sounds kinda thin standing out all by itself, but I was told it sounded really good in the overall mix with everybody playing.
Here's the track:
Man On The Silver Mountain Live Feed 11/12/2018
Again, this isn't a polished studio effort. In fact, as we got going and the crowd started reacting, I played even harder, maybe even not as cleanly, but it is what it is!!!!
