Man of Constant Sorrow - The Soggy Sandwich Boys

Robert, when you sing that do you follow music playing through a headset?

Just a click track and a foot stomp. I've sang this song so much over the years - My youngest son loved the movie and we started singing the song together on the walk to school in the mornings and in the car too - plus I did a lot of bluegrass in Mom's band, so I at least have some feel for the unique phrasing.

This song was an "excuse" for testing a new reverb preset in Audacity, plus I thought it would be fun...

While I am digging the new reverb preset, I have a noise anomaly that I never heard before and I need to find it. I also get a strange "buzz" when moving the laser mouse on my DAW....

Very nice, Robert. Great phrasing. I like the fact that you do things in one take. It gives everything a fresh, real and unpolished feel.

Sometimes, I find it necessary to re-track a certain part because i just can't stand it, but I will always tell you when it required multi-takes.

Robert I've played your "a cappella" take on this song a number of times now and it's a joy to listen to, thanks for posting.
I know you are an accomplished guitar player (I've listened carefully to your offerings) but seldom do our taste in music line up, keep up the good work!!!
Sure hope you can get a father and son version recorded.

Thank you, Sir Gasket! Quinten can really nail those harmonies. Bluegrass is not easy and he does a great job, just gotta work on his "stage fright" issues...
