That Epiphone looks nice. Never heard of the amp company, but there seems to be loads of really good amp products around nowadays.

Magnatone, like Supro, is a name from the past that has been resurrected.
This is a picture of one of the original amplifiers from the mid '60s.

They were good sounding amplifiers and the new ones are expensive.
Hopefully the new owners of the name went the same route the guys
that resurrected the Supro name did and are making amplifiers that
will not disappoint those who are familiar with the originals.

And to actually answer your question, I have never played through
either an original or a "reissue" so I have no first hand information.

The resurrected line of Magnatone amps have been getting very positive reviews in the magazines. Their Vibrato circuit, coupled with their Stereo circuit is very unique to Magnatone. Billy F Gibbons uses them now (I think).

The Epiphone is one of their Custom Shop models...very highly polished polyurethane over the wood...tagged at $679.00USD.

BIGGEST tone ever. I mean massive. Awesome tremolo and stereo effects, but zero overdrive when when pushed hard....probably would require a pedal, which I neither own or use....

I haven't seen one in years but in the day they did the job. Very good sound. They seemed to be great but IMHO limited on the diversity of sound. Certainly not like we see with today's equipment. Did I miss a price on it...?
