You missed the boat by a mile Ken of Trainwreck amps modified EVH Marshall's not the Mexican Jose. Jose just changed the tubes and set the bias.
If you look close Jimmi Hendrix amps had the same modification.

I agree. My apologies. I was wrong.
However? Not to brag but my 2203 Joey modified is a whole nuther level. I'm with you. I've never seen lead dress float on air like my amp has. Don't even know how to tell others. I use pics. Language won't due.
Some builders really do impress. Jaw officially dropped. Already.
No disrespect to Ken.
5 months later, I now have all the parts gathered to perform the Headfirst Amplification Modifications along with the Jose Arredondo Diode Clipping Mod on my Origin 50H....

Well? How's the mod sound? I really enjoy the 12AY7 in V1 and the JJ6CA7'S going into my EVH 412. Then boosted just a bit with my Buxom Boost. Quietest boost pedal I've ever used. Mutherfucker sounds vintage glory.
@syscokid is actually doing the surgery on the amp. It's more than I felt comfortable doing and his work is just phenomenal.

Well too cool man. Can't wait to hear your thoughts and the mod.
It's weird for me. I just have so much fun working my guitar and hearing this amp translate it. I'm ok with part of the "Joe playing experience" being slop induced.
I happen to love what my Origins do and have no need to mod !!

I think im at the point where i absolutely love seeing people mod their gear into something phenomenal and love when it pays off. But as for myself? Im too vanilla and keep things the same, just toy around for a different sound lol
The Origins brought me the 1987 tones and I like it..

Absolutely! I think thats why they keep them primarily as 50w, much like the 1987 ( there is indeed the 20w too but the 50w is the main one). For the price of them, theyre incredibly hard to beat for what you can get out of them. Id gladly own one

Obviously I got mine long ago. I got one for each amp, the old 4010 plus the SC20.
Works fantastc, tons of grind. I set it so it sounds how I like with pregain around 7. That way I can turn it up to 10 for more extreme gain or down a bit as required.

I don't play the SC800 without it. Part of the amp's real estate now. Plus you can still pedal the front end without giving too much frontend push. The Lynch Mod, JB Archer, and Mojotone BVH30's makes me mucho happy with this lil nut punch of an amp.
And lately it sits on top of my old Crate OS 112 cab loaded with one those BVH30's. After playing i feel like applauding the "Marshall stang" coming out of that cab. Its great thru the 112. Ive got plenty other cabs too.
