Lost my guy. Dad. Taught me everything. 83 years. I have always tried to be as smart as him.
Rough and tough on the oil fields. Quick and as perfect on the set.

The only time I got even close to as good or quick is when he got close to the end.

There are times I think I am darn good solving problems in the field. Pop smiled.

Dad was taught how to fish by his dad. I was taught by my dad. I can tell some stuff, happy stories, cold days, van doors frozen shut, I ain't sticking my hand in that cold water, a catfish that somehow won a fishing tournament at Toledo Bend.

Anyway. Love yall my friends.

Consider yourself very fortunate that your Dad lived to the age of 83 and that he taught you well, and you learned from him.

I wish that my Dad hadn't had suffered two heart attacks and a stroke at the age of 42, paralyzed and relegated to a wheelchair for 13 years, and subsequently suffered a fatal second stroke at the age of 55.

You are indeed fortunate!

God Bless

Sorry for your loss Rob, a parent or child is always hard. I lost my Pop back in 1987 when he was at the the age I am now. Lost my mother in 2009, lost my daughter in 2017 and my brother in 2020. I find comfort in knowing that the meat suits we wear are temporary but the soul that powers us is eternal.

Man, its rough. I'm feelin' you bro, my pop wandered off to the great beyond early in the new year. i was numb for a whole month and we weren't even all that close. Big picture? He's still with you, you'll never shake him. Ask him for guidance when required.
