Looky what I gots on da way...

Radio and stereo restoration guys and collectors hate us!

Maybe this will help them not to hate us quite so much. Here's a schematic in PDF form of the original circuit I traced out and dedicated to TTR. This is the first time I've done an attachment so hopefully it works. If all goes well there should be a file called 1960-ish Allied Knight KN4160 (orig circuit trace) (ttr).pdf attached...http://thetonerooms.com/attachments...7/?temp_hash=3f003b7139a3b4fdcf3e99e28b9ae05b

Seems like all I've been doing is working on my truck or something here lately. But, got a chance to work on this a bit today, so figured I'd share a couple pictures. Pretty much added a fuse where the 2-wre power used to go and drilled a new hole to install a three wire power cord. Also, wired up the fuse, switch, and primary of the power transformer.

Oh, and I pretty much gutted the chassis too ;)

Hey, HEADS UP, in the above picture I've got the the hot/neutral (black/white) backwards on my switch and fuse; I've since corrected it. No excuses - I messed up - took a brake from working on the truck to work on this project and must of been more distracted than I thought - my bad, should know by now not to work on electronics when distracted (at least for me any how)...

Someone needed to call me out on it. Just goes to show no matter how many amps you build, repair, etc you've gotta double check what you do. A long time ago an old dude told me something that is just oh so true as far as I am concerned and have experienced in life. He said if you make a mistake don't hide it. EVERYONE makes mistakes and you have to watch out for the ones that don't because they are either hiding it or blaming it on someone else. To me, that was a real pearl of wisdom from a 70 plus year old dude that just stuck with me...

Pretty much done. I plan on making a name plate when I come up with a name, but that's pretty much it. Sounds really good for a little amp. Here's a couple more pics.

Very well done, congrats on doing a great job. I have done a few similar type amps in the past, though not for some time now. Interesting that in the schematic they referred to the "stick of dynamite" electrolytic caps as a "firecracker". Cheers

Thanks ivan H. It was fun. I originally didn't plan of doing all I did, but once I started thing just kind of kept going. Any thoughts on a name for a little Sea Foam Green table top tube amp?

You know, a name is the thing I have the hardest time coming up with for builds. My little 5F1 Champ type buildWP_20180510_005.jpg which is months old now, is still waiting for a name. Sorry for the terrible phone pic. When I do think of one I'll etch a brass plate for it. Hope you can think of a name quicker than I can. Cheers

Nice looking little amp, man. Ya, names are like songs, they just kind of come to me. I don't really ever set out to write a song musically or lyrically. But, once something pops up I'll start chewing and gnawing on it. Names, pretty much the same...
