Look who my sister met this week

I just meant that Hetfield having struggled with sobriety for so long, and more or less being Straight Edge for a while now, but then the whole selling whiskey thing. Mind you, I'm nobody's judge of anything...just sayin'

Metallica, like any band at a larger level, essentially is a business. They've gotta sell their brand like any other company. I have no issues with that.

I just find it somewhat ironic.

That's very cool (and I want to try the booze!). I met Kirk Hammett once and he was an incredibly cool, gracious dude: my wife and I were having lunch in the restaurant at the Presidio a few years back and KH was in another booth a few down having lunch with his wife. I didn't want to geek out on the dude while he was enjoying private time but we ended up in the restroom together and I just, as discreetly as I could, offered my hand and thanked him for the music and he just lit up was genuinely appreciative. I got the vibe that if we'd have had the time he would have talked for a while. Super nice guy.

G,,,,,,,,,, I had a similar experience with probably one of the most legendary of Baltimore icons about 20 years ago at a gas station in Cockeysville. I got out to pump my gas and took a double take to the man on the other side of my pump. He was finishing up and heading up to pay. I said to myself, " I think that is Johnny Unitas." Like you, not wanting to geek out, I simply pumped my gas and went up to pay just as John was heading back to his car. As I neared him, and was limping due to injuring my back and knees dirtbike racing, he stopped ME. Then he said, " MAN, it looks like your back is really bothering you" I replied, " It's that noticeable?" He said, "Yup.... You're too young to have a bad back." I thanked him and said, it was nice meeting him and that my mom was a big fan, I will have to tell her I met you."

From that day till even now, I will praise Mr. Unitas for the kind manner he treated me with. If one hears any stories of the man, there will be many that tell of his kindness to strangers and friends alike.
