My dad finally has possession of my grandpa's old Moto Guzzi and it's mine!

My grandpa bought it brand new in 1973. It's a Eldorado 850. There are also side saddle bags with it.

More pics to follow...this is the only one my dad sent today...

\
What a score --- and a family heirloom as such --- wow ---er "dibs" ???? ;) buwahahahahahah

well done lad --- will need more pics and info

All I know for sure is it was bought right off the showroom floor brand new in 1973 by my grandpa.
He kept it garaged or a least "Barned" for it's whole life. Him and my grandma even rode it from
Ohio to Minnesota once in the dead of winter to visit his family...

It is all original and I believe my dad even found the owners manual...

THAT is a pure time capsule and a FRIGGIN AWESOME life keepsake man

I hope you enjoy the HELL out of it--- what a cool vintage bike ........green I am green with envy man. and even more STOKED for you.

made my day right there. Cheers Chris.

Thanks Guys! I'll be calling transport companies in the morning to get it out here before winter sets in back there...Dad has NO garage!

Being a former BUCKEYE--- the other thing I see in that picture is a very familiar form of GREY --------OHiO---you can leave it but it never really leaves you----

As soon as I saw the rain and the wet driveway I started missing home...I have my own "Home" now, But Ohio will
always be where my heart and my fondest memories live...

...oh and there are at least two or three cords of wood under that tarp. Mom and dad already have the fireplace sparked up...along with
their other pastime that they spark up year round on a daily basis...

incidentally I LOVE this bass line---
Ohio---if your FROM there -- you never leave it----if your not --- you dont "get it"-- its a love/ hate for me like no other---
its in your bones like DNA or something--

Great stuff, keep it in the family!
I have a couple of friends keeping the Guzzi flame burning including my next door neighbour. This is his late 70's 850 California.

After a lifetime of things motorcycle I'm drifting away but will keep and pass on to my boy my 1969 650 Triumph.
Looking forward to this threads development :-)

That is a beauty right there! I'm not sure how clean mine is, but my dad says it just needs a polish job...I'm sure some rubber
parts will need replacing, it's been kept in a barn for the last 20 years.

FIRST TOO 100 --- on an EXCELSIOR HENDERSON! 0--- you have motorcycle oil in your veins bubba ;)

Awesome, Sp8ctre!

You should wait until spring and ship it directly to Lake Como and then spend 2018 living La Dolce Vita.

My Guzzi experience was with a 1987 Le Mans. As a sportbike, it made a great tractor. It had bags of charm and character, though. :)
