All I know is that while it's 100°F here right now, once it starts cooling off and winter comes quickly, it's not uncommon that we get below zero temps with wind and all that fun stuff, so I had better be hunkered down somewhere better than my tent before then :LOL:

Won't be but a few more months until I'm wearing my insulated bibs again

Yeah if I had to have the older 2 there all the time I probably wouldn't even consider it. My son can destroy anything, and he does lol...they do spend a heck of a lot of time with their grandparents as it is, so they already have bedrooms and everything else they'd need...

But yeah, for a year or so, I could save everything that I would instead pay for a rental, and build up a nest egg with it....the goal being that I could buy/build eventually

Plus I really like the idea of being able to bugout within short notice if the :poo: really does hit the fan...cause the way things are right now, I'm not entirely sure it won't lol

I just can't bring myself to want to pay the current rental rates around here anymore... Pretty sure that over the last 10 or 12 years, I have bought and paid for someone else's houses, twice now.

Had I the insight 10 years ago at 28 years old, I would have done this RV thing already and by now I'd be sitting in my own goddamned house, not someone else's who can yank it out from under me at anytime...again.

All my gear is in the jam room at LRT's, I don't think he'll mind at all if I leave it there lol


Yeah, I've known a few people who have done this too, and it worked out well for them as well.

Does require some sacrifices, but in the end, if I play my cards right, it could work for me too.


I've heard of people doing this, sounds interesting. I'm in the sand, rocks and brush part of Wa state though...other than the Columbia River, no boats that size are even around here lol

Everything is doable just need to be patient and have to miss out on most things to save.

when i was saving up for my house i dindnt spend penny for 2 or 3 years, all my earnings was going in to saveings and my wifes earnings we would spend on shopping, we were staying my mums place crammed in 1 room, now i have my own place its not all mine i pay mortgage but managed to save for deposit and rest i Pay in instalments and eventually it will be mine.
You can do anything if you have will and drive , i believe in you!!!!

when you get your place we can jam in celebration :dood::dood::dood:

Yep on the wood deck thing. We're gonna doze the deck next year and replace it with a stamped concrete double deck with 5 ft high glass walls., no more wood to burn and NO maintenance.
 
Well, today I bought a 36' Doubletree Mobile Suites all-season 5th wheel. There's a washer/dryer onboard, an island in the kitchen, corian countertops, maple cabinetry, king size Sleep Number bed upstairs, 3 slide-outs, it's quite roomy for an RV.

So, for the next year or so, I'm going to live in it. We are aiming to be out of the house by the end of the month. Hopefully I find an acceptable RV park to put it in, or somewhere else with full hookups, anyway. A couple of the parks around here seem to have some unsavory types, I'd like to avoid those if possible. But, the nice thing about a home on wheels is that if I don't like a place for some reason, I can just drag it somewhere else.

Anyway, been busy lately, and I'm going to be busy with the move for the next couple weeks too.

I hate moving almost more than anything else lol
