Line converter?

I hope it solves your issue. :)

The new Yamahas are 8 inch woofers, with a range of 38Hz to 30kHz(thumpin’ bass if it’s there)

I love my 58s, I’ve become more of a fan of the Audix i5 over the 57 over the years(I do have both, and use them both)
They(58&57) are kinda a must have.
Will definitely report back.

I'm optimistic, going to take this opportunity to double check audio and power line physical separation.

Thanks again sir

@eclecticsynergy, @Thatbastarddon , and anyone else that gave me the d.i. advice.

Received my Clean Box Pro, re-ran all my cabling and guess what?

SUCCESS dead silent (well, almost lol), but as quiet as any picky person could hope for! I'm stoked!

All quiet at SteveB house, monitoring and playback sounds fantastic, really, really nice.

Thanks to all my forum bros. that offered advice, it really is better than I could have hoped for. Was still planning on needing to do something about the condition of the power in my wall. Not anymore.

If any of you find yourselves in Az, I sure would like the opportunity to buy y'all a libation. Thanks again men, would never have known what I was looking for. You guys rawk. :electric: :dood:

I’m stoked for you!!!
It’s great when a plan comes together!
I hope that you get some joy out of your new rig!
Maybe share a little with us(if you’re comfortable with that) some time.

Will be sharing in the future, still a little shy.

Thanks for your help bro.

In addition to giving posts a "like" we should have an icon to buy a virtual beer lol. You'd be having one right now sir.

Again, thanks for your time and effort brotha!

Happy Steve :dood:

That is so cool how we all are able to get the knowledge on things, some of us know very little about, this place rawks and Rawls!
Cheers Mitch

Cheers Mitch

Absolutely Mitch,

Man @Thatbastarddon had so much patience with me, I'm sure I sounded like a half wit lol.

Took his time and hit that nail on the head. And I got the opportunity to learn something new.

Rawks and Rawls indeed.

Not a problem...I’ve been there, and dug my way out....looong before this interweb-lifeline...
You were fine....I had breadcrumbs...we got it together, and that’s what counts.
I may not communicate perfectly, but I’ll sure as hell try and help someone that’s on the journey....happily.
Thanks again for the push towards the monitor situation that I was in need of a solution for. (y)

Yay for Balanced Lines !!! Transformers can solve so many issues …… I’ve even keep an extra ART S-8 just in case I need to insert an extra layer of isolation ……Built In DI sends from some amps , even with ground lifts, can still introduce weird noise …… Inserting one more layer of isolation can and has solved that puzzle many times !!

Yes, it was a great learning experience.

We a very fortunate to have members that have such a wide knowledge base!

So, I'll take every opportunity to thank you, and @Thatbastarddon, @eclecticsynergy, etc...all of you smart fellers.

It really worked out better than I could have asked for. SILENCE........lol.

Good Morning everyone.

I'm needing to take an unbalanced line with rca plugs and convert to balanced line with xlr or 1/4" trs.

Help! Lol

Any input sure would be appreciated.

1/4" Plug wiring is the same as RCA.
The ground is the sleeve this is the shield (screen) of the wire.
You really don't need a transformer to do this unless special circumstances, the frequency response suffers when you use a transformer.

Hey,

How are you doing! Knew I recognized that username.

If you're new "welcome ".

You've helped me out more than you know lol. Have read a lot of your posts in my amp / Marshall research.

Indeed! I’ve done that with quarter inch, but never with RCA. Too lazy I guess...just really never had to.
His speakers actually have the proper input for his interface outputs(RCA to RCA), but he had hum when properly connected.

Thanks for helping me explain.

I hesitated to answer, didn't want to give out incorrect information.

@Amp Mad Scientist it worked great.

Had a nasty hum, that is now a memory!

His diagram might have worked out for you though....or a kludge like: balanced 1/4 inch cable to, 1/4 inch female-RCA male adapter. The two grounds get linked in the adapter.

But I’m always wary of hum produced by compatible, and proper, connections...like you had.

Hmmm,

I actually have a couple of those jacks.

I'll probably switch it out, just I'm the curious type.

I have no noise or detectable loss or quality of signal. Still......im the curious type lol.
