lets explore................the EXPLORER

really feeling the Rock.attude . was getting mellow for a second..a simple Epi Explorer into a Marshall flipped my switch instantly. and unfortunately J isn't up for singing at this time.

Good time to get some heavies blasted out. Interesting how much you adapt your music creation to a singer. The new project has no singer..therefore nothing to have to write to. Pulled the rip chord.. how cool is it to still carry the rock torch..it only dies if we let it !! Explorers are deep & powerful!

I agree and at one point I will get another, but I will cherry pick, and find one that I truly appreciate.
Cheers

I arrives late to the party. I have had an Epi Explorer pro TV Silver, It has a bad balance to me but It looked awesome. I sold It. Then a high Explorer fever comes again. I bought this one. I love this thing. I never expected have a guitar like that. It is less weight than my LP's. If I play unplugged It has the better resonance of all my solid body guitars.

Hi,
I just watched the video, very cool.
He spoke about the 1981 Explorer as being called the “Historic” and they were built using a real ‘59 they had for specs.
It sounded like all that was offered that year was the Explorer Historic and the Explorer 2.
Does anyone here know if this is correct?
I have a line on an ‘81 Explorer for sale , very reputable seller. I’m just trying to do my homework.
Much appreciated

I'm super late to this party... But let's fire up some more love for the Explorers!
Both of these are wearing Seymour Duncan Mick Thompson signature blackouts and they are the very essence of brutality! Yeah!
The goth version has been my main guitar for a very long time, worn the paint off in spots. The (formerly Lzzy Hale model) white one has been blacked out and is my new favorite for the studio.

Both killer axes my friend..
I have had 2 Explorer’s in my days.. the first one was a 1976 ,, the one in my avatar pic, the second one was a 2018 in black.. both were Gibsons.
But in a time of need I sold the 2018 ..
Sadly I sold the 1976 back in 1984.. when I had first quit playing..
