So I have watched many of this fella videos (Scott Devine) bass instructional stuff....because--well I suck--

BUt I noticed he always had this GLOVE on his left hand......i cant play WITHOUT the glove I cant imagine a glove helping.......well ---I googled it and learned a bunch of new stuff !!!!!

Why does Scott Devine wear gloves when playing bass?

Yeah, the glove saved his bass playing career, although if it wasn't for his condition he wouldn't have started Scott's Bass Lessons, so swings and roundabouts :)

I have a pair of the same types of gloves to use with my U-bass, because the strings have a high amount of friction. They're really easy to play with and don't hinder playing at all, although they do alter tone if you're finger plucking. Scott tends to just wear one on his left hand, maybe that's why.

Also thank you for searching for why he wears gloves, plenty of people don't bother and facebook and livestream comments are awash with "why glove??" :rolleyes2:

A guy I know would wear surgical gloves to play bass because his sweat had such a high
acidic content that he would ruin a set of strings in one evening of playing music. I didn't
believe him at first because I'd never heard of such a thing...

Lucky me, I never had these problems. I love to play bass. AND guitar.
