Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been hanging around much. I don't get out too often.
I just acquired this! My Dad passed away a year and a half ago and my Sister just settled his estate a few weeks back. I wound up with a small amount of money as Dad liked to spend his loot and we both told him to do just that if it makes him happy. After all, it's his money.
Anyhow, I got enough to buy a thing. May I introduce Murray, a 2007 Les Paul?
I always wanted a Les Paul from the get go. Here I am 37 years later and I have one!
Thanks Dad!FB_IMG_1702611900235.jpgFB_IMG_1702611895805.jpgFB_IMG_1702611881789.jpg

Condolences for your loss.

You now have a guitar which has the following qualities.
1) it’s a great instrument
2) it’s something you can remember you dad by
3) it is named
4) this one is the most important cool factor. It has a story.

Maybe get the truss cover engraved with “Murry” just to add a little more to it.

Thanks again everyone. Just did a re-stringing and set up yesterday. It was really nice the way the last guy had it set up but now it's perfect for my tastes. Lowered the action, lowered the pickups and top wrapped the strings. Maybe it's a placebo, but the reduced break angle at the bridge feels a little slinkier to me.
And yeah, Tobacco sunburst is probably my favourite Les Paul finish. I really like the fact that the top isn't too flamed. I like when the flame is more subtle then pops when the light hits it right.
I have been getting to know this guitar for many hours (stayed up until 2:30 last night with headphones on) and it's certainly a keeper!
