Learned Something, JHS Little Black Amp Box

I bought this JHS “Little Black Amp Box” to run through the loop to control volume on a Marshall SV20H that I owned a couple of years ago. I hadn’t used the Amp Box again, until I tried it in the loop of the Jubilee.

I unhooked my pedal board this evening from the loop in the Jubilee and ran the board the board straight into my JTM45 (no loop).

I forgot and left the Little Black Amp box on the board. To my surprise, the Black Box it worked great in front of the JTM45 in controlling volume. I didn’t notice any tone loss at all.

And it’s relatively inexpensive. I know that it was designed to be used in a loop but it seemed to work like an inline master volume upfront.

I use one out front on my stereo Mosfet amp setup.
After some shared front end dirt pedals and before the A/B-Y splitter.
I set each amp a bit louder than I want, and use the LBAB as a 2 amp MV.
