Lawsuit Ibanez ES175 copy

This is the area I am talking about. Pics are of ES 175's but on the Ibanez I looked at, this area seemed really sloppy and even possibly missing colored "bondo" filler under the binding down to the body of the guitar. That was the very first thing I noticed about the guitar, if I don't count the narrow nut, not wide, neck.

Ok, dummy me looked up ES175 first. Now I look up Ibanez 2355 Neck joint pics and find this.

OK this is on the cutaway side, but you can see what I mean. The area at the last 5 frets seems recessed in with a noticable ridge then flush on up at the base of the neck.

Goo, here is the man himself on his black Byrdland. Just check out the grain and finish checking on this badass axe.
I saw him in Baltimore in 2016 with this same lineup except no Derek St Holmes. When he switched from His White or Natural Byrd or his LP to this Black Byrd, it was like holy Feck, it packed a punch ballzy to the wall sick tone and ready to roar just like in this clip.

Interesting tid-bit of info about the Byrdland - it’s scale length is only 23.5”, unlike the normal 24.75” scale of most other Gibson electrics.

Dang i didnt even notice Teds guitar has no bridge in that picture.Whats up with that ???? Thats Foriener in the other pic. Not sure thats spelled right either lol.
 
My Man Goo knows his SH. I knew it was F O R E I G N E R , Double Vision, Right?

As for Ted's bridge, hard to say,,,,,,, I can only speculate as some have. Maybe it was a quick photo op and it got overlooked during a string change and didn't bother to re install it.

I noticed a lot of heavy checking on the top of his guitar around the 3:00 minute mark. It must have been through many concerts. I really like his Byrdland guitar. It has a lot of character. BTW, Ted is a patriotic numbskull...drives me nutz!

The neck is also (supposed to be) the same width from the nut to the last fret. I don't know if they are all like that but that is how they were designed. The ES 350 is the same, short scale and non-flaring neck width.
 
OK, More gyrations in my mind in order to decide to buy the Ibanez or not.

I have been considering selling my SG Classic in order to recoup some of the cost of this Ibanez 2355-- ES 175 clone.
Does anyone still like P90 SG's? Any possible interest in a very lightly used one in beautiful Heritage Cherry?
