Ambassador of Decibels
I alluded to my recent acquisition of a pair of EV speakers today. The title is spot on too. I was hunting craigslist here in Baltimore and ran across a few T40's and some T60 Peavey axes nearby, but then like a flash, I see a listing for a pair of 8 ohm, EV EVM 12L speakers for sale. Met with the seller on Sunday, agreed to a price. Did not have cash on me over New Years weekend, but we agreed to touch base yesterday as we were expecting a snow storm to hit. As we arranged a meet up today, he brought up a 4x12 empty Traynor cab he had listed for $150. Then he hit me with 2 lower figures within an hour's time. I could not pass it up at this point especially with 2022 prices for good plywood, tolex and the labor to build one. I have the perfect quad of speakers to put in it if I choose to not simply make it a 1/2 empty 4x12.
Anyway. I can't wait to give these a full play test. I posted this clip to SG John, BastardDon, and maybe a few other fellas, but I really am jazzed to have found 2 of these and in really nice shape.
Pics and sound clips ( Johan ) etc to follow. Mine are either like the 1983's and like the 1989's or one of each, I have to check.
