Last day of the sale tomorrow - should I buy #1 or #2?

I kinda have, but at the same time, being an SG kinda guy, I got the guitar (or a semblance there of) that many SG players would have if they only had 2 geetars.

Ah, you mean you got ANOTHER SG!:D

If I could have only two guitars and only the first one could be an SG, I would have a real problem choosing...

late to the party, as usual...

my vote: NONE OF THE ABOVE

Here's the guitar to buy: Epiphone ES-339 P-90 pro in Pelham Blue, Normal price $450, Sale Price $349
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guit...-electric-guitar?rNtt=epiphone es-339&index=1

You get the Blue you want, you get the P-90s, you get a lovely and well balanced instrument that's about the same
size as a Les Paul, which means considerably smaller than the Kat. It's billed as a "semi Hollow body" which means it's got
a maple center block. Which actually means it's more like a solid body with a couple of hollow wings to the body.
I have one and really like mine. Mine's the "natural" version, which look like a blonde bombshell to me.

What you don't get is a Bigsby or a case. But there's a Musicians Friend Fourth of July blowout going on, so you can
attempt to get another cool discount by writing in: GOFOURTH

They might not give it to you, because the guitar's already marked down. But you might be able to get that extra
discount... which would pay for the case.

Highly recommended

Thank you all for your humour and suggestions, and I nearly forked up enough to get this (but I was too cheap...):

So an Epi 339 or Wildcat was on the cards, but once in the shop I preferred this monster:

So, Frank'd was right.... :D

But, there is another colour, wasn't in stock at that shop, but should get to me in a couple of days:

Very high quality build, great Mansun pickups, locking tuners, just everything works - very well crafted. Not just punk rock guitar, it does lovely cleans too. When it arrives (I hope on Thursday), I will put up some pictures.

One SG and one Tele, now all I need is a Gibbo 339...

Man, I kid you not, my first thought was exactly that sparkly red Cort!

Wow!!! Very nice! I dig a sparkle finish.

Great guitar Grump!!! besides no one does PUNK on a lovely KOA WildKat---thats for ROCK A BILLY --- we all know that lol

I like the metallic orange Grumpy Boo, nice score. You are still guilty of giving me Wildkat gas.

I must admit that is a good deal, and I made the mistake of thinking about Gibson 339s (which I might get one day) instead of just getting an Epi 339 pro which are nearly $500 here, no Pelham Blue available, so not as good as the MC offer.

Grumpy Boo as expected from straight outta left field ! That sounds like a pretty aggressive guitar there
sure your going to handle all that raw power ?

The thing is, Frank'd that I have all these great plans, but when I get to the shop and starting picking stuff up then everything changes... o_O &, even worse, once I get the guitar home for a week or two my feelings usually change again!

&, yes, I am man enough for this beastie. :dood: I doubt I'll ever be able to play Hysteria, but I'm gonna try!

Man, I kid you not, my first thought was exactly that sparkly red Cort!

I gave enough clues; several Muse songs, Wide Space by Mansun (who designed this guitar). Plus, I'm sure I did a couple of threads on that Fender 70s tele I had, it was nice, but not quite punky enough for my liking. &, once you have an SG and a Tele you have everything you need (except maybe a Gibson 339 studio in Midnight Blue).

Wow!!! Very nice! I dig a sparkle finish.

This sparkles, not usually my thing, but...

Yeah, the Wildkat is very nice, but maybe not my genres - although it could be fun for punk, it has P90s.

Thanks, Wav - that Koa Wildkat looks gorgeous; if it plays as good for you as it looks then it's one to buy.

OK, here are some really nice pictures of the guitar; it cost me US$435 btw which I think is pretty good. I like the locking tuners, access to truss rod down by the neck pickup, Mansun pickups, neck is silky smooth and comfortable, compound radius fretboard, and the bridge/tail is really nice (I wonder if my US spec Tonepros set will fit on it - you'd think not, but the bridge does look more US spec than Asian spec...). Not sure what I'm gonna do with the kill switch, but could be fun?

Cort makes some nice guitars. If they are good enuff for Gene Simmons, they are good enuff for Grumpy Boo too.

Wow. So nice

Ok, the only thing I would do is see if the Manson pups are 2 or three conductor. Then I would wire it with either push pulls or replace the kill switch with a mini toggle for this purpose. Assuming you do not want splitting or they are 2 conductor, you can wire a mini toggle for phasing between the pups.

That said, the guitar does not need any changes, I just have a compultion to tinker. It is a really great ax I would love to own. Congrats

I like it Grump, good choice and a very nice looking guitar. Im a Tele fan boy myself.Good to see you have a mind of your own and dont go buy the same ol shite everyone buys. I like those Ibanez Tallman guitars to.Course i think Noodles for the Offspring is one of the best Power chord punk players ive heard.

I was thinking, if the neck PU isn't to my liking then a P90 will fit in there without too much trouble. Also, seems as it is an MB1, I might at some stage put a fuzz circuit into it!
